DISCOVER THE WISDOM OF THE WILD IN SHEFFIELD & THE PEAK DISTRICT

Foraging, Folklore, Folk Herbalism & Seasonal Traditions

Join me on a foraging walk or workshop, where I share traditional uses of plants, trees and fungi and where we learn about identifying these often overlooked gifts that nature offers.

Learn about the history beneath our feet that we may pass by every day and become enchanted by the natural world around us. Even in the heart of the city we can connect with our human history and the land, understanding the people and stories that came before us through the plants we might consider weeds. Learn about their medicinal properties, how they can be used as food, and how to harvest sustainably and safely.

Or attend a folk herbalism workshop, folklore walk or seasonal therapeutic workshop to connect with yourself, others and nature through the old ways and stories of the land.

Excellent foraging walk - found lots of interesting plants even in January! Emily is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about the plants we found. I especially loved hearing the folklore behind each plant as well as the medicinal properties. Can’t wait to do another foraging walk next season.

I attended Emily's talk at Woodseats Community Garden and it was fascinating. I really enjoyed learning about plants I didn't know about and also learning lots of new things about the ones I did know. Emily had so much knowledge and the session was really informative. Bringing and sharing examples of different ways the plants could be used was such a lovely idea too! Thank you so much and I look forward to coming to another one of your talks soon.
